Marvin's Magic Moment

Seriously, I am launching two projects early in 2007. The first is the "bite-size" seminar. This will take the form of a 2 hour marketing workshop and will cover the most popular questions I'm asked eg How to implement cross-selling within the firm, how to network more effectively, how to implement a marketing culture, etc. Starting in February 2007, please watch for details of the one nearest to you. And where does the magic moment come from? At a recent "dry run" of my workshop, a wag in the audience called out, "When's the next magic moment"? So, I guess it has stuck.

Solicitors will be allowed to pay referral fees early in 2004

The ruling council of the Law Society moved towards allowing lawyers to compete on a level playing field when they voted to allow referral fees at a meeting on Thursday 18 December 2003. Now solicitors can be more commercial and open about the referral arrangements that have existed for some time already in the profession. Without them, solicitors could not continue to be competitive.
